Formula and worked example
Total turnover = average stake × rounds. Theoretical returned amount = turnover × RTP ÷ 100. Expected loss = turnover × (1 − RTP ÷ 100).
At 1 unit per round for 1,000 rounds, turnover is 1,000 units. A 96% RTP implies a theoretical returned amount of 960 and an expected loss of 40. This describes an average across repeated wagers; it is not a prediction that a particular starting balance will end at a specified amount.
RTP does not describe volatility
Two games with the same RTP can have very different distributions of wins and losses. A session may return nothing or finish ahead. This tool does not calculate the probability of either result, a safe bankroll or risk of ruin.
Is the theoretical returned amount my final balance?
No. It totals expected payouts across the wagers entered. It is not the ending value of a deposit, and money may be reused over multiple rounds.
Can a reward make this estimate wrong?
The tool uses only the entered game RTP and turnover. Cashback, bonus conditions, fees, changing stakes and account restrictions require separate treatment.
Use the RTP for the exact game version and settings, rather than a platform-wide advertising claim. Read our maths guides.
